The Core of Who You Are

The Council
Through Heather Scavetta
March 27, 2012
You have noticed lately the fluctuations in weather patterns. One day it is cool and another warm and this can feel confusing, not knowing which garment to wear and how to prepare for the day.
The earth is much like you for there are times where you may feel swept away with a strong wind and at times more firmly planted on the ground when the wind is not perceivable. You can always be in the calm of the storm. You can always be in the eye where much is going on around you and this can feel like chaos as objects will move in and out of your perception. One moment you are seeing a truck, and the next a flower, a shovel, a broom and none of it follows a logical pattern. You can learn to be in the centre and let all this go on around you and it will not affect you. You will be able to keep your equilibrium and to understand that these objects may come in to your view and out and yet you are the same.
You need not attach to what you see. This is not your true nature. Too often there are those who look at their surroundings to try to grasp meaning from it, to help them understand their own thought processes and feelings, to look for direction, to look for a reason and make judgements and yet the core of who you are remains unchanged, unaffected by these goings on.
This is not to say that you cannot take enjoyment from it, but try not to place too much meaning on what you observe for in and of itself it has no meaning, but the meaning that you give it, so if you choose to see it as transient, as temporary, then it will prove ineffective; it will not cause you distress or worry or anxiety.
It is true that the moment is all you have. Enjoy these moments for indeed these exact circumstances will not appear again. Take from it its true meaning. Remain centered and unaffected by what goes on around you and you will be able to see a clearer perspective of what is closest to your heart and what holds meaning.
Each of you hold within you the same power. Being able to know yourselves without external validation, without need, without expectation. Be comfortable that you possess all that is necessary for your happiness, for your fulfillment, for your purpose. Lessen the distractions around you. Provide opportunities to dwell in those moments of solitude to be close to yourself and to be honest of what is most important to you and what brings meaning and purpose to your life. Know that there is no one who can do this for you. There is no one who can tell you where you are going and what is required, but instead trust in yourself.
